This Hose Kit that makes it very easy to rinse kegs with water. Its also perfect if you want to fill a keg with water for making sparkling water. Here's how you can clean Cornelius kegs:1. Release the excess pressure in the keg and open the lid. Empty if there is any left.2. Connect the gardena coupling to a water tap and the ball-lock disconnect to the keg.3. Place the keg upside down in the sink and start the hot water. Leave to rinse for a few minutes.4. Set the barrel up and fill up with hot water and add e.g. PBW.5. Replace the lid and flush some detergent through both gas and liquid posts and the safety valve. Leave for about 15 minutes.6. Release the excess pressure and open the lid. Empty the cleaning agent (or transfer to the next keg if you are cleaning several at the same time).7. Connect the gardena coupling to a water tap and the disconnect to the keg.8. Place the keg upside down in the sink and start the hot water. Leave to rinse for a few minutes.9. Sanitize the keg with e.g. Star San just before filling the next batch. Tip: Buy a threaded PET adapter and you can also easily rinse your beer lines too.

Most conventional beer taps are designed with 10mm diameter nozzle/spout so you can pour pint in just over 10sec.  This type of flow rate is great for high turnover bars and commercial venues but this high flow rate requirement is not not necessary or desirable for all applications.  For compact portable systems, or for home brew draft systems a slower flow rate is easier to control the flow and further reduces foaming issues due to the low liquid volume stored in the tap body.  This Nukatap mini is also more idea for pouring smaller doses.  For examples cocktails where 150-250ml of liquid is dispensed is difficult to control with a high flow rate tap.  For portable systems this tap and FC ball lock disconnect assembly is small enough to literally put in your pocket making it ideal for mini keg setups that you want to be portable or that you want to easily fit inside a domestic fridge where space is tight.

What is pH?pH is the measurement of the concentration of free hydrogen ions in a liquid. The pH of pure water is 7. Liquids with a larger concentration of hydrogen ions than water are acid and have a pH value less than 7. Liquids with a lower concentration of hydrogen ions on the other hand, are base and have a pH value higher than 7. The pH scale runs from 1 to 14. Can I measure the pH instead of the acidity of the must?No! In winemaking, the acidity is the representation of the amount of grams of acid in your wine/juice, usually expressed in grams of tartaric acid per litre. This can only be measured with a special indicating solution like Vinoferm® blue indicator. You can, however, use a pH-meter in combination with the blue indicator: instead of adding blue indicator until the colour turns blue, add blue indicator until a pH of 7.00 is obtained. This method is more accurate and gives better readings for, amongst other things, red juices! The combination pH-meter, blue indicator and an automatic burette is a professional set-up for accurately measuring acidity.
